Video: HITPmusic.com Interviews Kendrick Lamar & Live Performance Footage
Last night at Middle East in Cambridge, MA, 2011 XXL Freshmen listee, Dr. Dre protege and Top Dawg Entertainment artist Kendrick Lamar performed. Coming all the way from the west coast and performing for the first time in Boston, the Compton rapper didn’t disappoint. From the first step he took on stage to the last song he performed, he had total control of the crowd. The rapper even came back out to perform one last song for the crowd despite the DJ having already packed up his gear.
He performed songs such as “Heart Part 2″, “P&P” and “Night Of The Living Dead” off his well received Kendrick Lamar EP and Overly Dedicated mixtapes. He also previewed some new songs off his Section80 album, due out July 2nd. After the show, HITPmusic.com got to have a few words with the talented and rising star.
Although, Lamar was the main attraction for those in attendance, there were other highlights throughout the night such as Boston rapper DomOfTheYear, who HITPmusic.com interviewed a few weeks ago (watch here). The young MC gave an energetic performance, performing cuts such as “Prelude”, “Holding Back Memories” and “6 Foot 7″ off his SETLIST EP. With his 15 minute set, the rapper surely gained some new fans.
You can watch Lamar’s performance and our exclusive interview in the video above.
